RRB ALP Vacancy 2026

A total of 11,127 vacancies have been announced for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot. These vacancies will be distributed across different railway zones.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Must have passed 10th (Matriculation)
• ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade OR
• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile)

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years

Age relaxation available for reserved categories.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in multiple stages:

1. CBT-1 (Screening Test)
2. CBT-2 (Main Exam)
3. CBAT (Aptitude Test)
4. Document Verification (DV)
5. Medical Examination

Exam Pattern 2026

CBT-1

• Questions: 75
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Subjects: Maths, Reasoning, Science, GK
• Negative Marking: 1/3

CBT-2

• Part A: 100 Questions (90 mins)
• Part B: 75 Questions (60 mins – qualifying)
• Total Duration: 2.5 hours

Part B requires minimum 35% marks to qualify

Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• No negative marking
• Minimum T-score: 42 required
• Final merit = 70% CBT-2 + 30% CBAT

Salary Details

Selected candidates will get:

• Pay Level: Level-2 (7th CPC)
• Basic Pay: ₹19,900
  • DA, HRA, TA & other allowances
